Invisible Threads

This project reimagines an ancient belief through the ultra-close view of an electron microscope: the path of an invisible thread that connects two souls bound by destiny is never lost. In this digital work, the electron microscope becomes both a scientific tool and a metaphorical window into the inner journey of human connection.

The artist magnifies a red thread, traditionally used in Azerbaijani carpet weaving, revealing its nanoscale structures as a kind of path. Under the electron microscope, the fibers unfold in winding, branching shapes, creating a map-like image — an invisible route that guides two people towards each other. This path bends, thins, and thickens like destiny itself.

Hyper-realistic images recorded by the electron microscope are combined with digital sound textures to transform this path into a living and dynamic entity. The vibration of the nanolayers symbolizes obstacles, convergences, breaks, and the rhythm of a destiny that bends but never breaks.

This digital work transforms microscopic matter into a metaphor for a journey:

each fiber becomes a direction, each fold a turn, and each vibration a step that brings two people closer together.

“Invisible Threads” makes visible the path that exists simultaneously between science and emotion — bringing a continuous but invisible line of connection to life through nano-art.

Digital Performance (In front of the Murad Gate)
Conceptual video installations dedicated to the ancient tradition of carpet weaving will be presented by digital artists Nargiz Asgarova and Shelale Salamzade. The music arrangement for the digital performance is by Azer Hajiasgarli.

According to popular belief, "If two people are made for each other, they are connected by an invisible thread. Even though life's path throws up difficult, insurmountable obstacles to separate them, and that thread slowly loosens over time, the invisible bonds grow stronger and never break. And this path will continue until those two people meet."The artist presents an audio-visual installation created using nano-images of a red thread, which is widely used in Azerbaijani carpet weaving, obtained through an electron microscope and which we cannot see with the naked eye.

Invisible Threads
3-channel Nanovideoart

“Invisible Threads” reinterprets traditional notions of fate and connection through a nanoscale visual language. The fiber structures visible under an electron microscope become an invisible map of human relationships. The work explores the fine lines that exist between science, memory, and emotional connection.
